Bloomberg: Meta to announce new layoffs this week

The Meta company (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) may announce new large-scale layoffs this week. This is with reference to its own sources in the company reports Bloomberg.
At the same time, the agency notes that the final decision on who the company no longer needs can be delayed and be made only next week. Meta itself declined to comment on this information.
According to Bloomberg, the current round of cuts is associated with poor financial performance. Faced with falling ad revenue, Meta’s management allegedly asked directors and vice presidents to make lists of employees they could say goodbye to without hurting the company, agency sources say.
In November Meta already announced layoffs of 11,000 employees to cut costs, the largest layoff in the company’s history. At the same time, the company’s management called 2023 the year of efficiency. About Meta’s intention to cut several thousand more employees earlier informed financial times.
