The Taiwanese shipping company Evergreen Marine Corporation paid bonuses of 50 salaries to its employees at the end of 2022. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing its sources.
The corporation became most famous after the incident with the ship, which ran aground in the Suez Canal.
The company noted that the amount of 50 salaries is equal to the amount that the employee could receive for more than 4 years of work. The bonus is calculated depending on the position and function of the employee himself.
The publication emphasized that such a large payment is due to the large growth in the shipping industry over the past two years. The boom took place against the backdrop of the introduction of coronavirus restrictions, as well as demand for charter ships.
