Bloomberg: Apple is preparing an update to the voice assistant Siri

Apple in 2023 will introduce an updated version of the proprietary voice assistant Siri, which will receive new features and a simplified activation phrase. This is reported Bloomberg.
According to the publication’s editor Mark Gurman, the American company plans to change the greeting “Hey Siri” (Hey, Siri) to a simple call “Siri”. The work on engineering changes and AI deep learning has been underway for several months now.
So far, only Apple employees are taking part in the closed testing of the new activation phrase. It is expected that engineers will be able to teach technicians to accurately understand the use of “Siri” in different accents and dialects, since the two words of the phrase “Hey, Siri” significantly increase the likelihood of correct recognition of the command.
It is expected that the updated version of Siri will be presented in 2023, but in case of problems, the release may be delayed until 2024. Together with the new activation phrase, the voice assistant will recognize commands better and will be available in third-party apps and services.
Recall that for the first time the voice assistant Siri appeared in 2011 on the iOS 5 operating system on the iPhone 4S smartphone. Apple’s signature assistant is now available on iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS, and audioOS.
