The defense of blogger Elena Blinovskaya, accused of tax evasion in the amount of 918 million rubles, plans to achieve changes in the conditions of her detention so that she can work and pay off her tax debt. About it TASS said lawyer Natalia Salnikova.

So far, Elena Blinovskaya has paid about 55 million rubles. Her lawyer assured that it was impossible to pay a larger amount, since all accounts were frozen. At the same time, Ms. Salnikova stated that the defense considers the amount paid to be “partial repayment of a possible arrears.”

Now the defense is collecting documents about the expenses of Elena Blinovskaya and her company. “We hope that we will be able to convince the tax authority that there are enough documents confirming the fact of incurring these costs, and the arrears by these amounts should also be reduced,” the lawyer said.

Ms. Blinovskaya was detained in April while trying to cross the Russian border. As part of her case there were arrested about 100 million rubles. in various currencies and 21 real estate objects. August 16 Moscow City Court extended her house arrest until October 26, rejecting the defense appeal. Experts from the Center “Business Against Corruption” claimthat they found grounds to change the preventive measure for the blogger to a written undertaking not to leave the place.
