US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking at a meeting on Ukraine at the UN General Assembly, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin “intensified the escalation.”
As the head of the American foreign policy department put it, the Russian leader decided “not to end the war, but to expand it.” According to Blinken, as a result of the partial mobilization announced in Russia, another 300,000 troops will be added to the troops.
The Secretary of State also noted that the tension is not reduced, but intensified by the “threat of nuclear weapons.”
Recall that earlier the Russian Foreign Ministry repeatedly assessed the activities of the United States and the NATO bloc as aggressive towards Russia, including the transformation of Ukraine into a security threat to Moscow. In addition, the United States, after the start of a special military operation by Russia, led the Western countries providing military assistance to Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin, announcing on Wednesday a partial mobilization, called it a decision that is fully adequate to the current threats.
