Coconut-scented soap repels mosquitoes, Virginia Tech biologists say
Biologists from Virginia Tech and the University of Mississippi have found that some types of soap repel mosquitoes while others lure them in.
The authors of a scientific paper published in iScience compared various types of soap and reported that mosquitoes are repelled, including those that contain the smell of coconut, as well as lavender.
It is planned to conduct new experiments with other detergents.
