Social life in Moscow still exists, but again, to put it mildly, not up to par. However, to state once again that she, the poor woman, became worse after the next lofty statements (and this time the announcement of partial mobilization was the reason) is a dull task. It seems that now everyone understands that she is indestructible – even when she began to live in unison with society, not fencing off from it with a heavy velvet backstage, harsh face control or an outdated VIP sign. Everything secular, with its vitality, is like a fair game in which you need to beat on the heads of beavers peeping out of the holes. It is these beavers.

So, what do we see at the end of the week. The main secular activity has two sources: restaurants and premieres (more often – serials, less often – a full meter). Museums and galleries, after the high pace taken in the September week of art fairs, have gone into the shadows. Bistro Ester and the cinema center “October” took the courage to do something. Of course, both events happened on the same evening – but now no one complains about this. Another sign of the times is the neglect of the etiquette of the guest management, according to which it was customary to send save the date invitations a couple of weeks before the event, then a week before the invitation itself, and to top it off, a kind reminder the day before. The planning horizon has collapsed, so there’s no time for these etiquettes of yours. At the same time, potential guests have become much more responsive. So, by inviting at the last moment, the organizers at least do not risk it.

October, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary, made a festival of the Karo-Art program: festival novelties, a whole block of short films from St. Petersburg, the directorial debut of actress Svetlana Ustinova. The organizers recommended not to miss the premiere of the restored last silent Soviet film “Happiness” of 1934. There, the peasant Khmyr, who went around the world to seek happiness, is eventually sent to war.

Bistro Ester turned out to be a charming little cafe with a thimble-sized secret bar. The institution belongs to the BBGROUP holding; its co-owner Svetlana Drobot decided that the only thing missing on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street was Israeli cuisine, and filled in the gap. The composition of the guests at other times would be considered modest. But there are no other times anymore, let’s forget.

Although it is impossible to forget. A reminder was the premiere of Alla Sigalova’s play “Karenina. Process” in the concert hall “Barvikha Luxury Village”. The producer of the production was the leading lady Sophia Ernst. The jewelry company Mercury was pleased to cover the Karenina with the necessary jewelry for authenticity. In general, this premiere was supposed to close the small theatrical festival “Collection”, organized by Mrs. Sigalova and Pavel Kaplevich (was supposed to go to the New Manege from February 26 to March 2). And now they decided to show the work after all. Among the guests of the Ernst couple were Sergey Selyanov with Lyubov Inzhinevskaya, Valentin and Marina Yudashkins, Kirill Kleimenov, Eteri and Kristina Levieva, Marina Zhigalova, Maria Bogdanovich, Irina Zarkova, Yulia Posh, Ksenia Solovieva, Ekaterina Odintsova. Konstantin Ernst followed the benefit performance of his wife in a big hat from the seventh row, in places he grabbed the phone to capture her. Behind this hat, Igor Mirkurbanov’s talent as Karenin literally faded. Recently, a real theatergoer Konstantin Ernst does not often give a chance to conquer himself and leaves after the first act. Perhaps that is why the performance went on without intermission.
