Biathlon world champion Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht will retire after the end of the season. The fourth stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Biathlon Cup of the 2023/2024 season will be held from April 12 to 14 in Murmansk. The athlete is 39 years old.

“For me, these will be the final starts of my professional sports career. I invite everyone to join this sports festival!” – said the athlete (her words are quoted by the press service of the Russian Biathlon Union in Telegram channel).

Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht received a gold medal at the 2015 World Championships in Kontiolahti, Finland, winning the 15 km individual race. In 2019, the athlete won silver at the World Championships in the mass start. At the World Cup stages, Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht received two golds, one silver and two bronzes in individual races.
