Schoolchildren from the border areas of the Belgorod region will go on vacation ahead of schedule until the end of this week, said the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. Schoolchildren in other areas of the region will go on holiday from Monday, March 24. Clubs and sections in cultural, sports and additional education institutions will not work this week.

“We decided that by the end of this week – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – we will begin early holidays in general education institutions, that is, in schools in border municipalities plus Belgorod and the Yakovlevsky urban district. In colleges and universities there is distance learning without the presence of teachers in university buildings,” Mr. Gladkov wrote on his page on the social network in “In contact with”.

“In the rest of the Belgorod region, the educational week will continue as planned until the end of the week, and from Monday there will be scheduled school holidays throughout the region,” the governor said. Distance learning has been introduced in colleges and universities.

Monday and Tuesday were declared days off in schools and colleges in eight districts of the region and in the regional center due to shelling. About nine thousand children will be taken to other regions due to shelling from Ukraine. Since March 20, entry into the territory of seven settlements in the Belgorod region has been restricted.
