The head of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, answering questions from users of VKontakte (VK), said that there are enough troops in the region to ensure security.
Hunters and armed locals should not fight armed people, the official warned.
“There is a risk of shooting not at a Ukrainian saboteur, but at a Russian military man,” Gladkov said.
The governor was asked if hunters and residents of the area could use weapons if they spot suspicious individuals.
“From my point of view, it is categorically impossible to do this,” the governor recommended.
