Peskov expressed concern about the actions of the attackers on the Belgorod region

The penetration of the sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the Belgorod region is of deep concern, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“Of course, what happened yesterday is, of course, a matter of deep concern. This once again confirms that Ukrainian militants continue their activities against our country. This requires a lot of effort from us. These efforts are ongoing, and a special military operation is also ongoing in order to prevent such penetrations in the future, ”Peskov said.

The press secretary did not give a description of the structures on the border of the Belgorod region, redirecting this issue to other departments. Peskov also forwarded to the Ministry of Defense and the FSB the question of why the cleansing of the territory from Ukrainian saboteurs has been going on for almost a day.

He emphasized that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border service, the Russian Guard and the FSB, are taking the necessary measures to eliminate the enemy.

Today, May 23, Gladkov informedthat as a result of the attack by saboteurs on the Belgorod region, the number of victims increased to 12 people. According to the governor, residents of nine settlements, including Graivoron, Novostroevka, Gorky and others, have “actually been resettled”.

The incident was reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Work is underway to squeeze out saboteurs from the territory of the Russian Federation and destroy them, Peskov added.

In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region. The same regime operates in seven other regions – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Kursk, Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
