Belarus will keep a deferment from the army for students studying abroad

Deferment from military service for students from Belarus who study abroad will remain. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Education of the country Alexander Bakhanovich.
In October, deputies of the national parliament adopted amendments to the legislation in the first reading. They specify the grounds for granting the right to deferment from conscription for military service. If the norms of the law are adopted and put into practice, the number of persons receiving a deferment from conscription will be reduced.
The project provides for the provision of a deferral for continuing education to citizens studying abroad only at the direction of state administration bodies or state organizations. Now a deferment from conscription for military service is granted to all Belarusian students who study full-time in educational institutions outside of Belarus (including Russia).
Bakhanovich confirmed that for those applicants who will go to study at foreign educational institutions in the direction of state administration bodies or state organizations, the delay will remain.
