In Belarus, a clinical protocol has been approved that contains an algorithm for the treatment of pedophilia, including the use of chemical castration, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus said.
The agency informs that amendments to the Criminal Code of Belarus have been prepared. Along with punishment, the amendments provide for compulsory treatment of pedophilia.
In March, it was reported that the Ministry of Health of the country, taking into account international experience, is developing a clinical protocol containing an algorithm for the treatment of pedophiles.
Deputy Prosecutor General Aleksey Stuk, speaking about the upcoming changes to the Criminal Code, to the question of whether chemical castration would be proposed in the legislation, then answered: “How close we are to such a radical measure will depend on how this category of crimes develops.”
