Composer Raymond Pauls lost his wife Lana, with whom he had been married for over sixty years. The woman has died yesterday in one of the Latvian hospitals. Svetlana was 84 years old. “MK” became aware of the details of the sudden death of the musician’s wife.

For the stars of show business, to whom Pauls wrote many hits, the news of Lana’s death came as a complete surprise. In fact, she left in three days.

“Lana spent the last days of her life in the hospital,” a source close to Pauls told us. – On the morning of the second of August, she fell in the toilet of her house. Raymond helped Lana to the bed. On the same day, the couple decided to seek medical help. It turned out that during the fall, Lana broke her leg. The fracture was not too serious – she could even walk at the very least. But the doctors insisted on an operation. The surgical intervention was successful. But Lana could not recover from anesthesia.

“It turned out later that Lana had much more serious problems,” our informant continues. – Metastases were found. No one knew that Lana had such a serious diagnosis. Including herself. The only thing alarming relatives was that in recent months she had lost a lot of weight and was constantly coughing.

– How did Raymond Pauls endure the news of his wife’s death?

– He’s very depressed. But he tries to keep up. Now the family is engaged in the preparation of all necessary documents. He understands everything. As he says, otherwise Lana could get into a situation of endless pain.
