Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has placed control over the progress of the investigation into the criminal case of mass unrest in Dagestan, the agency reported on Monday in its Telegram channel.
It is noted that on social networks “in order to organize mass unrest, calls were posted to the population of the Republic of Dagestan to go to protests in the area of the Uytash International Airport (Makhachkala).”
On October 29, at approximately 20:00, currently unidentified persons, while on the airport territory, “accompanying their actions with riots and violence, providing armed resistance to law enforcement officers, using objects that pose a danger to others,” entered the airport territory, and then to the runway for the plane arriving from Israel, as well as to the airport premises, where pogroms were carried out.
There are victims among law enforcement officers.
The Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Dagestan has opened a criminal case under the article “Mass riots”.
Alexander Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Dagestan, D.V. Belyaev. establish the circumstances of the crime, the organizers and participants and give their actions a “comprehensive legal assessment.” The progress and results of the investigation have been monitored by the central office of the Russian Investigative Committee.
