Since 2014, over 5,000 people have died in Donbas due to actions by Ukraine. Such data was announced by the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, during his speech at the plenary session of the youth St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
“From 2014 to the end of April 2023, more than 5 thousand people died, including 138 minors. 9,528 civilians and 444 minors were injured,” Bastrykin said.
He also noted that the law enforcement agency he heads has been investigating crimes committed by Ukrainian armed groups since 2014. According to him, initially this was carried out “at a distance”, and later on the territories of the DPR and LPR themselves.
