Banks and brokers from 30 countries will be allowed to trade in foreign exchange in Russia – Kommersant

Russian Government approved a list of countries whose banks are allowed to trade on the Russian foreign exchange market. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Now banks and brokers from friendly and neutral countries are allowed to trade on the Russian foreign exchange market, as well as on the derivatives market.
These countries include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Qatar, China, Cuba, Malaysia, Morocco, Mongolia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, South Africa. In total there are 30 countries on the approved list.
The resolution was prepared to implement the new provisions of the law “On Organized Auctions”, adopted in July 2023. The document has not yet been published.
