The development of the Russian fuel and energy complex will depend on successes in the development of domestic mechanical engineering. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak at the plenary session of the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum, writes publication “Tyumen Region Today”.
Novak recalled that the Russian economy and fuel and energy complex faced unprecedented challenges due to events in the foreign policy arena. To supply energy resources abroad, the country had to radically change the transport and logistics chains that had been developing for decades. A significant share of petroleum product exports was redirected to other markets. This became possible due to the fact that the government has been diversifying exports over the previous ten years, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
As an example, he cited the launch of new port facilities and the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system. Novak added that despite the sanctions, the total volume of oil production in the country amounted to 535 million tons – 2% more than in 2021.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Energy, in 2023 the market volume of oil and gas equipment and oilfield services will exceed 3 billion rubles. In such conditions, the demand for equipment and technology in the country is increasing, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized. He noted that industrial enterprises need to increase the production of domestic equipment, replace imported technologies and ensure high quality and service.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that for nine years the country’s dependence on foreign equipment and technologies in the oil and gas industry decreased to 38-40% from 60%. Since 2015, domestic companies have developed 140 types of import-substituting products. The volume of state support in the main areas of development of the oil and gas industry during this period amounted to 60 billion rubles.
