Acting Governor of the Zaporizhzhia region Yevgeny Balitsky said that construction of the Simferopol-Rostov-on-Don highway will begin next year. Part of it will pass through the territory of Zaporozhye. The project, which will allow to remove the load from the Crimean bridge, was supported by President Vladimir Putin, informed in his Telegram channel, the acting head of the region.
The four-lane motorway will pass 30,000 cars a day, Mr. Balitsky said, the design documentation for the route is being prepared. Its construction will begin in January 2023.
The Acting Governor recalled that the Melitopol-Berdyansk road with a length of 107 km has already been fully built, 50% of the work on the construction of the route that will connect Melitopol with Simferopol has been completed. The start of construction of the highway in 2023 will be the next big stage in the restoration of the region’s road infrastructure, Evgeny Balitsky said, noting that the region’s road infrastructure has not been repaired for decades.
