Many people associate troubles with Friday the 13th and even believe in the mystical significance of this day. Show business here is divided on several fronts. There are artists who believe in mysticism, those who deny it and those who have not yet decided, because although they do not believe, something is sure to happen in their lives on this day. The stars told Moskovsky Komsomolets about their attitude to the “Friday the 13th” theme.

Yulia Mikhalkova: “I was late for the plane”

Actress, film producer and former participant in “Ural Dumplings” Yulia Mikhalkova said that in her life, Friday the 13th is always a reason to be nervous.

“Remember, there was such a children’s saying: “Friday the 13th is bad, but Saturday the 14th is even worse”? It’s about me. I don’t believe in “Friday the 13th” itself, but I’m a little afraid of it. Because – you won’t believe it – but every strange thing always happens to me the next day – Saturday the 14th. One day, five years ago, I missed an important flight because the clock had mysteriously moved back two hours. Today I have a performance in Voronezh. Therefore, I will carefully monitor the clock tomorrow so as not to miss the train on the 14th.”

Singer Dmitry Koldun: “I have a great relationship with Friday the 13th”

The artist admitted that such a date for him is a sign that the day will be especially successful, and not vice versa. “I don’t know if it’s related to my last name or just a coincidence, but I have an excellent relationship with Friday the 13th. I recently looked through my tour schedules over the past years and discovered that I always have a concert on this date. Today is no exception – I’m performing in Chelyabinsk. And it seems that nothing bad or mystical ever happens on this day. I even have a song about Friday, maybe I dedicated it to the 13th.”

Tatyana Kotova: “Bad day – reschedule the premiere”

Former member of the VIA Gra group Tatyana Kotova also decided for herself that on Friday the 13th everything would be fine with her.

“Since school years, the girls and I knew that this was some particularly mystical day that would bring trouble. And they even “looked for” them: someone got a bad grade or their parents were called to school – they definitely connected this with a bad day, Friday the 13th. But in later life, no sad or dark situations happened to me that day. If there were any troubles, they were unlikely to be associated with this date. I treat this sign as conventions, frameworks and stereotypes that were once invented and then widely advertised in the film of the same name. I try not to pay attention to signs and numbers. For example, today, Friday the 13th, I released a new song. Some friends said: “Tanya, it’s not a good day – reschedule the premiere.” I didn’t listen to them, and I’m sure that this day will be a success for my single.”

Anna Semenovich: “Granny ended up in the hospital”

Singer Anna Semenovich admitted that she began to believe in omens and mysticism after an incident that happened in her family.

“I’m not a superstitious person, I don’t really believe in omens. I always try to drive away negativity from my life and attract positivity. If there are signs, then only good ones. Previously, when I was involved in sports, I really believed in omens, I only went out on the ice with my left foot, I was afraid of a black cat crossing the road, etc. Only what we believe in works, we convince ourselves that if we follow certain patterns in our actions, the day will turn out great! There is nothing wrong with this, each person has his own techniques and habits for happiness. But one day a single mystical and very sad personal story happened to me. My grandmother was admitted to the hospital. I was very worried about her. I’ve been working out on the track in the morning. I hear “shkrep-shkrep” upstairs. My assistant and I unscrewed the ventilation system and saw a pigeon there. I live on a low floor, I have a bunch of floors above. Nobody, not even the master, understood how he could fly there. The windows were closed. And there is a sign that when a bird flew into the apartment, it was due to sad events,” recalls Anna. – I canceled everything and called my mother to visit my grandmother together. When we arrived at the hospital, we were informed that my grandmother was in intensive care in serious condition. I persuaded the doctors to let me see her for a minute. The next day I fly to Dubai for a concert, and there in the evening I find out that my grandmother has passed away…”

Sergei Kuprik: “Attempts to justify failures”

Honored Artist of Russia Sergei Kuprik, on the contrary, loves the mystical date, since he is lucky to perform on this day.

“I have never believed and do not believe in omens and some special mystical, unfavorable days. For me, these are all inventions and attempts to justify some failures, which, as you understand, happen to everyone and can happen any day. This is a normal course of life. And with Fridays, whether they are the 13th or some other number, like most artists, I have good associations. This is the day when we most often have work and performances. And that’s always good. How many people are born on Friday the 13th, this does not mean that they will necessarily have some kind of difficult life,” concluded Kuprik.
