Avito announced the launch of a section with new products



The “Avito Mall” section with goods in new and “like new” (without traces of use) condition will appear inside the mobile application. About it told a company representative in a conversation with RBC. In addition, the company obliges sellers to undergo document verification using a passport, through “Gosuslugi” or by TIN; their rating must reach at least 4.5 “stars”. At the same time, company representatives and market analysts note that the format is fundamentally different from the marketplace model.

Avito Tovarov Product Director Irina Gracheva clarified that the first tests of the service began a year ago, then the section was available to 1 million users for several weeks. “Based on the results of the tests, we saw that in Avito Mall sales are 11% higher than in the main space. For us, this is a new level of user experience: selected sellers of the platform, the opportunity to get the best offers throughout Russia, cleanliness and accuracy of the content,” explained Irina Gracheva.

As the general director of INFOLine-Analytics Mikhail Burmistrov notes in the publication’s material, Avito, unlike marketplaces, continues to focus on working in the C2C segment. Most of the revenue, according to the company's reporting, comes from advertising fees.

The company also reported that the section will first appear in the mobile application, and later on the site’s website. Products will be presented in the main consumer categories.
