Audio Technica introduced new wireless headphones – model ATH-WB2022 in a wooden case. They will go on sale in early 2023, their cost will be $ 2.7 thousand. It is stated that the headphones will be assembled by hand and will enter the market in a limited edition.
The full-size on-ear headphones feature flamed maple, walnut, and mahogany bodies, sourced from Japanese guitar maker Fujigen. The tree made it possible to save the headphones from acoustic vibrations and reduce sound distortion. The ear pads and headband of the ATH-WB2022 are made from Alcantara.
Equipped with 45 mm drivers, the headphones received two ESS DAC ES9038Q2M digital-to-analog converters, a pair of MUSES05 amplifiers and separate batteries for each of the headphone cups. This design is claimed to provide exceptional clarity and resolution with zero crosstalk or noise between the left and right channels.
There is a microphone for talking on the phone, and a Bluetooth connection supports connecting to two devices at once. The battery provides up to nine hours of operation on a single charge.
