Audio and video calls on social network X have become available to all users – Kommersant

Social network X (formerly Twitter) announcedthat all users can now use the audio and video calling feature. Previously, the functionality was only available to paid X Premium subscribers.

Calls to social network X are built into the messaging section: to dial another user, you need to communicate with him at least once through private messages. Users can also configure the function so that no one calls them or only contacts from the address book call them. You can also indicate the possibility of calls from verified users or those to whom the person is subscribed. Users will see an incoming call on the lock screen, just like a normal call.

Company tested audio and video calls from July 2023. Initially, the function was added for iOS users and X Premium subscribers, but later the functionality appeared on Android.
