Athletes of Buryatia brought home 20 gold medals

The Athletics Championship of Siberia and the Far East presented the national team of Buryatia with 20 gold medals. The competitions were held in neighboring Irkutsk, according to the Ministry of Sports of the Republic.
Buryatia was represented by the largest team among veteran athletes. According to the Minister of Sports and Youth Policy of the Republic of Buryatia Ivan Kozyrev, our veteran athletes not only win medals, but also set country records, inspiring everyone around to go in for sports.
As noted in the Ministry of Sports, Sergei Prokhorov has several victories in the 60m hurdles, shot put, 400 meters and high jump. And Egorov Albert was able to set a new Russian record for 2 thousand meters with obstacles.
In the team standings, the team of Buryatia took the 2nd place. They lost to the hosts of the competition, but left behind the teams of Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk, Angarsk, Cheremkhovo, Shelekhovo, Blagoveshchensk and Khabarovsk.
According to the results of the competition, the winners will be able to compete at the Russian Championship among veterans. It will be held in Penza from March 30 to April 2.
