Athletes from the Lovozero region will represent the Kola Arctic at the sports festival of the indigenous peoples of the Arctic “Bering Games”. The event will become part of the large-scale Bering Strait festival, which takes place in the city of Anadyr, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, from August 4 to 8.
The participants will test themselves in the disciplines of the northern all-around, which is now actively developing in a number of regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sports of the Murmansk Region reported. Competitions will be held among men and women in eight types of programs.
In 2022, polar athletes adequately represented the region and took sixth place in the overall team standings. Now the team will again have to show their persistent northern character, distinguish themselves by perseverance and win.
