Athletes from Sakhalin won four medals in athletics competitions

Sakhalin athletes won one gold and three bronze medals at the All-Russian Track and Field Competition “Champions for Russia”. Competitions among boys and girls born in 2008-2009, 2010-2011 were held in Penza from March 3 to 5 and brought together over 300 strongest athletes from all regions of the country, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
The island region at the all-Russian starts was represented by three athletes from the regional center. Artur Kokhan from Sakhalin (coach N.V. Shapkina) successfully performed in three disciplines at once in the age group born in 2010-2011. He placed first in the 60m with a score of 8.15 seconds, third in the 200m with a score of 27.31 seconds and third in the shot put (11.25m).
Alisa Mitrofanova (coach K.A. Krymsky) brought another award to the island team. The athlete took bronze in the age group 2008-2009. at a distance of 400 m, her result is 1:00.17.
