Athletes from Kazakhstan and Turkey staged a showdown over flags at the World Cup

Athletes from Kazakhstan and Turkey did not share the podium at the World Armwrestling Championship in Antalya. Footage of the “showdown” at the awards ceremony appeared in social networks.
The first place was taken by the representative of Turkey Caglayan Derya Ceren, the second and third places were taken by athletes from Kazakhstan Diana Tyukova and Dana Asanova. At the awards ceremony, the Kazakh women unfurled the flag of their country together, thus blocking the first step of the pedestal.
Ceren did not like this arrangement. She took her place on the highest step and defiantly opened the Turkish flag over the Kazakh one. Tyukova and Asanova, in response to this, again pulled their flag to the fore. A small “geopolitical confrontation” unfolded, as a result, the flag of Kazakhstan was unfurled over the head of Jeren, who could not do anything, as she was accepting her gold medal at that time.
