In Yakutsk, from July 1 to July 7, a freestyle wrestling tournament among young men is held in honor of the Olympic champion, three-time world champion, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR Pavel Pavlovich Pinigin for the prizes of the Joint-Stock Company “Railways of Yakutia”, the press service of the AGiP RS (Y).
Within the framework of the competition, the All-Russian open tournament among boys under 16 and the International tournament among boys under 18 are held.
The titles of the strongest will be contested by young athletes from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the national team of the Russian Federation and nine regions of the Russian Federation: the Amur, Irkutsk, Kemerovo regions, the Republic of Buryatia, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Trans-Baikal and Primorsky Territories, the Republic of Ingushetia and the Republic of Tyva. In total, more than 500 athletes participate.
The guests of honor of the tournament are two-time silver medalist of the World Championship in freestyle wrestling, champion of the Asian Games Buyandelger Bol (Mongolia) and Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Russian Federation, International Master of Sports in freestyle wrestling, Master of Sports of the RSFSR in national sports, State Lev of the Republic of Tuva , champion of Russia, champion of the Armed Forces of the USSR Radislav Nikolaevich Navazhap (Republic of Tuva).
Pavel Pinigin noted that many leading wrestlers from Yakutia started their sports career from this tournament and reached high peaks on the world stage. He expressed hope that in the near future young athletes will repeat the successes of their older brothers and will delight their people and country with their victories.
