Police detained four fans with Russian flags after the Australian Open match, Reuters reports.

This happened on Wednesday after the match of the 1/4 finals of the tournament, in which Russian Andrei Rublev and Serb Novak Djokovic met.

The citizenship of the detainees is not reported, they are being interrogated.

Rublev lost in this match with a score of 2:6, 2:6, 4:6, and this ended his performance in the tournament.

It is noted that the meeting lasted 2 hours and 5 minutes.

Earlier, the Australian Tennis Federation banned fans from bringing Russian and Belarusian flags to the stands. The ban is connected with the complaints of Ukrainians. The organizers of the tournament recalled that fans from Russia and Belarus were forbidden to wave flags so as not to interfere with the fans.
