At the First Cossack University – MSUTU. K.G. Razumovsky – the opening of the Cossack bachelor’s degree took place, reported on the website of the university. The events were attended by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Cossack Affairs Dmitry Mironov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky, State Duma deputy, Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society, Nikolai Doluda, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs Stanislav Bedkin, Metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssky Kirill.

Rector of Moscow State University of Technology Arseniy Mironov said that more than 100 students will be trained in profiles specially developed in the interests of the Russian Cossacks: “State policy towards the Russian Cossacks”, “Teacher of history, social studies and ethnoculture”, “Media technologies and information policy of the Russian Cossacks”. Education is free.

The classrooms of the Cossack undergraduate students are equipped with new modern equipment, an educational television studio complex and a media technology laboratory have been created at the university, a computer class has been equipped, an electronic shooting simulator has been installed, there are sites for physical development, and a new modern student hostel has been built.

Students will be able to attend additional seminars on the history and culture of the Cossacks, master classes in flanking, cutting with a sword and Cossack fun.

Konstantin Mogilevsky said: “This is the first academic year when an independent separate Cossack bachelor’s program operates in our country.” According to him, dozens of applicants from different regions of Russia, including from the Kherson region, the DPR and the LPR, will be able to receive a full-fledged Cossack education.

Doluda said that “Future chieftains should practice in Cossack societies”, “future teachers – in Cossack classes, cadet corps”, and “future journalists – on the basis of military press services.”

The rector of the university emphasized that “for the first time in Russian history, the launch of free education according to a curriculum specially designed for the Cossacks became possible thanks to the most resolute support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.”
