ASUS showed a new generation of gaming smartphones ROG Phone 7 – the first to enter the market are the flagship ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. Their sales will begin in April – the cost of smartphones will be from € 1 thousand and € 1.4 thousand, respectively, however, the price of the Ultimate version includes the AeroActive 7 cooler, which is offered for a surcharge for the base smartphone.
The devices are based on the top Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is combined with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory. Both models have the same 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2448×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Smartphones support ray tracing, but only in those games where this technology is provided. The set of cameras includes a 32 MP front camera, as well as a main module with a 50 MP lens, a 13 MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 5 MP macro lens.
The novelties feature an improved GameCool 7 cooling system, which in the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate model can be supplemented with an external AeroActive 7 cooler. The cooler also has an additional 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting headphones. The devices received AirTrigger programmable ultrasonic buttons and a powerful vibration motor for tactile feedback in games.
Smartphones are equipped with two 3000 mAh batteries at once with support for 65 W fast charging. The case is protected from dust and moisture according to the IP54 standard, and on its back side there is a programmable ROG Vision AMOLED color screen. Both models are paired with a range of ASUS ROG branded gaming accessories.
