Astrophysicists warn of a magnetic storm on August 5

The Laboratory of X-ray Solar Astronomy of the Institute for Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that on the night of August 5, a magnetic storm is expected on Earth. Its probability is estimated at 30 percent.
According to the published forecast of astronomers, the geomagnetic storm will begin at about 3 am Moscow time and will be classified as G1, that is, it will be weak. A stronger magnetic storm, according to astrophysicists, can occur with a probability of 5 percent.
It is believed that magnetic storms of categories G1 and G2 have almost no effect on the Earth.
