The constellation will rise above the horizon at 21:00. The optimal time for observation will be 2 a.m., the planetarium reported. “Shooting stars” will be white, bright, not very fast and leave almost no trace.
The Geminids, as astrophysicists reported, differ from many other meteor showers in that their “progenitor” is not a comet, but the space object Phaethon, which is a cross between a comet and an asteroid.
