The best time to view the flyby of the International Space Station with the naked eye is July 13th. The ISS will be clearly visible as a bright star moving across the sky from the southwest to the southeast until July 17.

In general, the visibility of the ISS in the night sky came on July 1, but it became brightest only on the night of Thursday, July 13. You can notice the ISS as a bright star that smoothly flies across the sky. This flight is visible at a certain point for 3-5 minutes.

In one day, the station makes 16 revolutions around the Earth, a complete revolution takes 1.5 hours. When this little “star” appears in the sky, it’s hard to imagine that today the 69th main expedition is on board, which includes 6 (!) Experts recommend choosing open spaces in the absence of clouds for observing the ISS.

“You can stand in the field or climb on the roof and look south at the estimated time,” says Vladimir Samodurov, senior researcher at the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory of the Lebedev Physical Institute. – A very bright, slowly “creeping” star of magnitude -2 will appear in the sky. In size, it can be confused with Jupiter or Venus. If you have binoculars or a telescope in your hands, this will only enhance the effect.

July 17 – from 0:48 to 0:51, from 22:21 to 22:28, from 23:58 to 0:02.
