Assistant head coach of Salavat Yulaev Konstantin Koltsov died

Gagarin Cup winner Koltsov died at the age of 42

The Telegram channel of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club reported that assistant head coach Konstantin Koltsov died at the age of 43.

“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that Salavat Yulaev coach Konstantin Koltsov has passed away. He was 42 years old,” the hockey club reported.

Let us recall that since 2022, Koltsov has been part of the coaching staff of Viktor Kozlov in the Ufa team. Among other things, in the KHL, the striker managed to work on the coaching staffs of Dynamo Minsk and Spartak. In the Belarusian Championship, Koltsov led Dynamo from Molodechno and Brest.

During his playing career, the striker played for Severstal, Ak Bars, Spartak, Dynamo, Atlant and Salavat Yulaev. In 2011, he won the Gagarin Cup as part of the Ufa team.

Note that in the 2003/04 season he played in the National Hockey League for Pittsburgh.
