From the Shiveluch volcano (3283 m) in Kamchatka, an ash ejection to a height of up to 5500 m was recorded. Because of this, a slight fall of ash is possible in the village of Ust-Kamchatsk. Shiveluch has been assigned an orange aviation hazard code.
Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reportedthat “the ash plume spreads in a southeasterly direction towards the Gulf of Kamchatka”. There are no settlements on its way, but if the direction changes, “a small amount of ash may fall in the village of Ust-Kamchatsk.”
At the moment, ash fall in the settlements is not registered. There are no tourist groups near the volcano.
