As a result of an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 in the Kamchatka Territory, there are no damaged or destroyed buildings, said the governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov. According to him, many buildings were damaged – some cracked, plaster collapsed somewhere or slabs fell from the walls.

Governor toldthat in Petropavlovsk, Elizovsky district and Vilyuchinsk, task forces are inspecting buildings. Due to the earthquake at Mutnovskaya GeoPP-1, the second turbine generator No. 2 was turned off, and several microdistricts of Petropavlovsk were left without electricity, but its supply has already been restored, Mr. Solodov specified.

By data Geophysical Service, a series of aftershocks also occurred in Kamchatka. The magnitude of these tremors was 4.6, 4, 3.7, 3.6 and 4.1. All of them were recorded in the Pacific Ocean.

Earthquake in the south of the Kamchatka Territory was recorded today, April 3rd. A Kommersant correspondent reported that some buildings were damaged in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in particular, a number of office centers and a teacher training college. According to the Petropavlovsk seismic station, the epicenter was in the waters of the Avacha Bay, and no tsunami threat was declared.
