Arsonist of military aid collection point sentenced to forced labor

Court in Novosibirsk carried out verdict to Krasnoyarsk resident Pavel Oleinikov on charges of attempting to set fire to an aid collection point for military personnel in the zone of military operation in Ukraine. Under the article on attempted intentional destruction of property (Article 30, Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), he was sentenced to two years and three months of forced labor with payment of 10% of his salary to the state.
According to investigators, in 2023, the accused was looking for work via the Internet, and an unknown person, who the investigation could not identify, offered him on Telegram to set fire to the property of a municipal organization in the Sovetsky district for money. On the night of March 6, a Krasnoyarsk resident broke a window and threw a Molotov cocktail inside the room.
On this day, a fire was reported in the premises of the Active City coordination center on Novomorskaya Street, where humanitarian aid was being collected for participants in a special military operation. A rapid response team arrived when the alarm went off. The guards threw snow at the fire. The arsonist was detained.
