Arshavin spoke critically about Zenit’s interest in Makarchuk

Deputy General Director of Zenit Andrei Arshavin on MATCH TV expressed his opinion about the interest of the St. Petersburg club in Sochi defender Artem Makarchuk.
“I don’t think anything good about this. I think Zenit needs to pay attention to top players and take them,” said Arshavin.
This season, the defender played 19 matches for Sochi. Judging by rumors, Zenit is ready to offer 5 million euros for Makarchuk, and the Transfermarkt portal estimates the player’s value at 2.5 million euros.
Chairman of the Board of Zenit Alexander Medvedev denied the rumors. Sochi General Director Dmitry Rubashko also said that Makarchuk had not received such a proposal.
