Armenia will not sue Russia for not receiving paid for weapons. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic Hrachya Sargsyan. He noted that the issue should be resolved in an atmosphere of partnership.

“There was no delivery of weapons, but it won’t go to trial. I think that the issue will be resolved in a partnership atmosphere,” the Deputy Minister of Defense said at a briefing (quoted by “TASS”).

On May 14, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan announced that Russia had not delivered the weapons that the republic had paid for. The Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic noted then that the agreement was valid under several contracts, it was not specified which specific ones.

In November, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmedthat the republic did not receive the promised weapons. Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia is in search of “new partners in the security sector” who could begin actively selling weapons and ammunition to it. He said that Yerevan does not yet plan to leave the CSTO. The prime minister also noted that Russia itself needs weapons.
