The Armenian Foreign Ministry announced the shipment of humanitarian aid to Turkey for the victims of the February 6 earthquake. According to a widespread report, trucks with humanitarian aid left on the morning of Saturday, February 11, and have already crossed the land border.
“They crossed the Margara bridge on the border and are heading to the earthquake-affected region,” Vahan Hunanyan, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said.
Earlier, Armenia sent rescue teams to Turkey, as well as Syria, which also suffered from the earthquake. The decision to provide assistance was made despite the fact that there are no diplomatic relations between Yerevan and Ankara, the border between the countries has been closed since 1993.
