Armenia received a bid to participate in the Future Games tournament in Kazan, but industry companies said they had no candidates. This was stated by the head of the youth sports department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Artur Sedrakyan.
“Armenia has received an application for participation. We emailed it to several registered industry organizations but received no response. They indicated that they do not have candidates to participate in the competition,” Mr. Sedrakyan told the agency “Sputnik Armenia”.
The minister admitted that Armenia will take part in the tournament in the future if teams are found and the state considers it appropriate. In 2024, Arthur Sedrakyan noted, no funding has been allocated for participation in the Future Games.
The first “Games of the Future” will be held in Kazan from February 23 to March 3. More than 260 teams and over 2 thousand athletes from 100 countries will take part in the competition, which includes five categories (sports, tactics, strategy, technology and speed). The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on February 21. The first participants of the games arrived in Kazan on February 15.
