Politico: Ukrainian authorities do not want the West to rush them with a counteroffensive
Politico leads a statement by a source in a number of high-ranking commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who said that the Ukrainian authorities do not want Western partners to push them to any hasty actions during the offensive. Rush and pressure can lead to failure and big losses, the source explained.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, Russia prepared for a counteroffensive by creating defensive lines.
“This is not Kharkiv. We have to be careful,” the source said. “We don’t have people to waste or equipment. The advance must be gradual.”
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that “they want a new victory, this is normal, these are emotions,” Politico notes.
Earlier, Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine not started yet the main counteroffensive while “testing” is underway.
