VDNKh continues to digitize archival documents. The new sections with photographs and articles contain more than three thousand photographs and newspaper materials that reflect the life of an entire era. Those wishing to get acquainted with the history of the exhibition can find there frames with expositions of past years and read about their organizers and participants.
In total, the exhibition fund contains more than 150 thousand photographs. The portal will be updated with new materials. The document digitization project operates with the support of the Russian State Archive of Economics, as well as with the help of volunteers. The work uses modern high-tech solutions using artificial intelligence.
One of the new sections on the site is dedicated to all the workers of the exhibition who participated in the Great Patriotic War. In it, you can search for materials by the last name, first name and patronymic of the employee, date and place of birth, position, award. The page displays information about the combat path, injuries and the fate of a person.
“We honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and are proud of the workers of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition, who joined the militia of the 13th Rostokino division. In order to preserve their memory, a special section “VDNKh Employees – Participants of the Second World War” was opened on the portal of the archive and library fund,” said Sergey Shogurov, General Director of the exhibition.
The site also continues to work section “Award materials”. Thanks to him, you can get information about your relatives, who have ever been awarded at VDNKh for significant achievements and advanced developments.
The portal of the archive and library fund of VDNH began to work in 2020, in the year of the 85th anniversary of the first resolution on the location of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in the Ostankino region and the beginning of preparatory work for its construction.
