Architects.rf (implemented by DOM.RF) has released a free online course – “Lighting Design: Principles of Lighting an Evening City.” The training materials were recorded by professional architects and lighting designers. This was reported by the press service of DOM.RF.
The course talks about global trends in the industry, principles of urban lighting design and features of working with facades and public spaces. The training consists of 20 lessons, including one longread and analysis of four practical cases.
“Modern lighting systems with a variety of functions are not only about the safety of pedestrians and traffic flows. Proper lighting design helps develop the potential of urban areas in terms of their multifunctionality and economic activity. The course will be useful for architects, urbanists, municipal employees and other specialists,” said Anton Finogenov, Director for Urban Environment Development at DOM.RF.
Online lessons explore techniques that help create a high-quality and inspiring lighting environment in the city.
“The co-authors of the course were lighting environment researcher Svetlana Kolgushkina, founder of the RAUM bureau and the Wavelength magazine about light, Vlad Oblasov, and leading lighting designer of the Culture of Light bureau, graduate of the Architects.rf program, Daria Chirimisina,” notes the company’s press release.
