In Energodar, a Ukrainian attack drone was intercepted flying towards the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP). About it reported “RIA Novosti” with reference to the Russian power structures.

“With the skillful actions of our employees, the device was intercepted and planted. Upon examination, it turned out that this UAV was a strike one, ”the agency quotes its interlocutor.

On July 20, the State Duma adopted a law on the right of law enforcement officers to stop the movement of drones. According to the document, employees of private security organizations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Guard, the FSB, the FSO, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other departments will be able to stop the movement of drones. The introduction of the draft law is explained by the fixation of UAVs in the area of the Zaporozhye and Kursk NPPs. The authors also explained that, according to the FSO, last year 208 drone flights were stopped over objects protected by state security agencies.

Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Since the end of February 2022, ZNPP has been under Russian control. The station and the city of Energodar, in which it is located, are subjected to regular shelling from Ukraine.
