The first reviews of the Apple Vision Pro appeared in Russia before the start of official deliveries. In the US, you can pre-order the headset from January 19th. Then, in just three days, Apple sold about 180 thousand devices. The basic configuration of Vision Pro in the States costs $3.5 thousand. In Russia, the price will be higher than 600 thousand rubles, Kommersant was told in the re:Store network. However, when the device will appear on store shelves is still unknown.

The model still needs improvement, notes Evgeniy Kharitonov, editor-in-chief of the Ferra.ru portal, which is part of Rambler&Co: “It’s not very convenient to work in this headset now, because physically these are large-sized ski goggles, in which your head sweats, your eyesight gets tired, and , basically, without a laptop it is not productive enough, and with a laptop it is not adapted for virtual reality. This is the first problem.

The second is an avatar that was created by Apple for video calls. It looks bad, and it animates like low-quality deepfakes, when people try to sew facial expressions from another person, some celebrities, etc. It’s uncomfortable for everyone: the interlocutors look at an avatar that twitches strangely and imitates a living person, but also for the person who calls up and is forced to sit in a helmet.”

Videos are already appearing in which the first owners of Apple Vision Pro are walking along the streets of the United States. Social networks note that they resemble city crazy people, throwing their heads back and waving their arms chaotically. Kommersant FM’s interlocutors said that such a gadget allows you to get a completely new experience. For example, you can watch a movie, supposedly being in the mountains, but actually lying on the couch.

The company has made a technological breakthrough, and you can close your eyes to some of the device’s shortcomings, says blogger Valentin Petukhov, known as Wylsacom: “It is appropriate to recall all the first Apple products; with rare exceptions, they have always been a set of compromises, both the iPod in 2001 and iPhone in 2007, and iPad in 2010. As a rule, they became really interesting by the second or third version, but they all had a unique set of functions that made a certain revolution in their niche.

Apple Vision Pro feels like a product of the same level. The first generation shows the triumph of technology, when Tim Cook was asked why it was so expensive, he said it was because the technologies of tomorrow are available today. Subsequently it will become cheaper. The input method, eye and hand tracking are implemented in a very interesting way, it all really works like magic, and this is a bid for further success. While it’s expensive and crude in places, I think, like with the iPhone, by the fifth version everyone will feel and understand that this can be bought.”

As experts note, Russian owners of Vision Pro may have difficulties. When purchasing a gadget, you need to link it to a user account, since official deliveries are not expected in Russia; most likely, all headsets will arrive with a pre-installed American profile. And only free applications can be installed on it with a Russian bank card.
