Anydesk Remote Desktop Developer reportedthat it was hacked by hackers who managed to steal the source code and code signing keys. The company said that its customers were not at risk, but recommended updating their versions of applications with the new code signing certificate.

According to Anydesk representatives, the criminals were unable to steal authentication tokens, but the company decided to play it safe and reset all passwords to its portal, and offered users to change them. Anydesk has also started changing code signing certificates in its other products.

Anydesk was able to detect the hack after suspicious activity on the company’s servers. Based on the results of a check by specialists, it turned out that some of the files were compromised, but the hackers did not demand a ransom. Anydesk has revoked all security certificates associated with the stolen data and has also restored all systems. Anydesk is used by over 170 thousand customers worldwide, including NVIDIA, Samsung and Siemens.
