With up to 24GB of combined memory, activities like image editing in Adobe Photoshop are up to 50% faster than the previous generation, and video editing in Final Cut Pro is more than twice as fast. The model with M2 can also play up to two streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps or up to 12 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps simultaneously.
The M2 Pro chip version is equipped with a 12-core processor with eight high-performance cores and four high-performance cores, as well as a 19-core GPU and supports up to 32GB of memory. The next-generation Neural Engine is 40% faster than the M1 chip, enabling faster machine learning tasks such as video analysis and image processing. The M2 Pro can simultaneously play up to five streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30fps or up to 23 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30fps.
The new Mac Minis have up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports and support up to three displays. In addition, the M2 Pro model can run a single 8K display, a first for Mac.
