Apple introduced a new generation of smartwatches

Apple, as part of an online presentation, officially introduced a new generation of branded smart watches – the Watch Series 8 family of accessories.

Retaining the same design, the watch received improved protection against moisture and dust, as well as increased shock resistance. The new LowPower Mode allows you to extend the operating time of the accessory up to 36 hours without recharging, while keeping a number of watch functions active. The capabilities of the accessory are expanded with the new generation of the watchOS 9 operating system.

Apple Watch Series 8 is able to call emergency services if the owner gets into a traffic accident – the accelerometer and sensors detect overloads and if the person does not turn off the notification, rescuers are automatically called to the scene of the accident. Also, due to the optimization of sensors and software, the tracking functions of women’s health have been improved.

For the first time in Apple Watch history, a rugged version of the watch has appeared – the Ultra version, designed for operation in extreme weather conditions when practicing active sports. The novelty received a reinforced titanium case with larger controls for control in gloves, additional screen protection, an increased battery (up to 60 hours without recharging), more powerful speakers and microphones, and an improved GPS module. For Apple Watch Ultra, special straps have been developed with a stronger and more comfortable fit, as well as special display design options for better readability in extreme conditions. Also, the flagship version has advanced features for tracking physical activity and various sports disciplines, including certification for diving.

The Watch Series 8 will be released in four aluminum cases, three colors of steel case, as well as sports versions from Nike and luxurious ones from Hermes. The Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $399. The updated budget Apple Watch SE, which is 20% faster than its predecessor and has almost all the features of the Watch Series 8, will cost from $249. The new Apple Watch Ultra will hit the market at a price of $799.

The pre-order for the new watch is open from September 7, and all models will be on sale from September 16.
